Last newsletter we announced that the division executive desired to adopt a division Logo. We even offered cash!!! $100.00!!! (Admittedly in Canadian funds, but, hey, what do you want?!?!) But, gentle reader, I only received two submissions!!!- and from the same person - and not even a surface scientist!! These are two great images he put together but they are not very "logo-like" - too busy - not simple enough. Hence, I unilaterally declare the contest will continue. Please send your submissions. Email me (Dan Thomas) and we can figure out how to get it here. In the meantime, take a look at the other two submissions.

Since "going to press", we have received another submission. Paul Rowntree (Universite de Sherbrooke) who is chairing next year's Surface Canada meeting, had to come up with a Logo for his meeting, and so submitted it for the competition. Here it is...
