Current project:

My research is on the elucidation and characterization of novel virulence factors in pathogenic bacteria that are members of the ADPRT family. I will use state-of-the-art data mining software and techniques to identify potential new virulence factors and the genes will be cloned and the proteins expressed and purified in an E. coli expression system. The factors will be characterized for ADPRT enzyme activity and for their role in the offending, pathogenic bacteria.
