Current project:
My research is the rational-based mutagenesis of the active site of the diphthamide-specific ADPRT toxins, P. aeruginosa exotoxin A and diphtheria toxin. The goal of this work is to increase our understanding of the enzyme mechanism of this family of potent bacterial virulence factors, which should eventually lead to the design of more potent therapeutics against these enzymes.
